About Us
A small Melbourne NDIS team with a big purpose
Great support starts with great people. Based in Brighton, we’re a team that values genuine relationships, high standards and doing the right thing—for the young adults we support, their families and each other.
The People Behind It
Meet the founders
Roberta and Mitchell started Support Workers Melbourne with a simple belief: that the right support, delivered by the right person, can change a life.

Roberta Robertson
Co-Founder & Operations Lead
Mitchell and I founded Support Workers Melbourne with a passion for making a genuine difference in people’s lives. Before stepping into leadership, I worked as a support worker, supporting people with a wide range of disabilities, mental health challenges and life experiences. Those years taught me that the best support is built on trust, consistency, empathy and taking the time to truly understand each individual.
Today, I lead the organisation with a strong focus on quality, continuous improvement and building a team of exceptional people who share our values. I’m passionate about creating a workplace where support workers feel valued, supported and inspired to grow, because I believe that when people are well supported, they provide the very best support to others.
Outside of work, I’m a proud mum to two young children who keep life busy, fun and full of perspective. They remind me every day of the importance of patience, curiosity and enjoying the small moments.
I’m naturally curious and have a genuine love of learning. Whether it’s leadership, psychology, disability, business, communication or personal development, I’m always looking for opportunities to expand my knowledge and become a better leader, parent and person.

Mitchell Robertson
Co Founder / Innovation Lead
Growing up on a farm in regional New South Wales taught me the value of hard work, resilience and always leaving a place better than I found it. Those values continue to guide me today, both in my work and in the way I support others.
Before co-founding Support Workers Melbourne, I worked as a support worker for more than two years, supporting both adults and children with a wide range of disabilities and mental health conditions. During this time, I gained experience supporting people with autism, ADHD, schizophrenia, borderline personality disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and depression. These experiences reinforced the importance of empathy, patience and taking the time to understand each person’s unique circumstances.
My background in Australian Rules Football has given me a strong understanding of fitness, strength training, mobility and healthy living. I enjoy helping others discover the physical and mental health benefits of exercise and encouraging them to find activities they genuinely enjoy.
Today, my focus is on ensuring our team has the systems, resources and support they need to provide exceptional care. I believe that by continually improving our processes and investing in our people, we can create better outcomes for the individuals and families we support.

Meet Sandra
I hold a degree in Psychology from Colombia and over 10 years of experience in the Australian disability and healthcare sector, I bring a unique blend of clinical insight and dedicated hands-on care. As a qualified Support Worker, I am deeply passionate about empowering participants with high-quality, person-centred assistance. Outside of work, I am an outdoor enthusiast who values family deeply, and has a strong commitment to connection and well-being I carry into every aspect of my life and work.
Meet Jack
Jack holds a Bachelor of Medical Science with majors in Neuroscience and Immunology, which goes a long way to explaining why he finds people genuinely fascinating. He takes the time to understand what each participant is working toward and creates a space that feels safe, respectful, and non-judgmental. He helps with daily living, cooking, exercise, planning, and academic support — including study strategies for participants at university or TAFE. In his spare time he plays guitar, experiments in the kitchen, and dives into anything science or health-related.
Meet Charis
I’m a dedicated support worker currently studying Health Sciences, majoring in Health Promotion and Family, Society and Health. I’m passionate about helping others and understanding the broader factors that shape our health and wellbeing. Outside of work and study, I enjoy watching Hawthorn at the AFL, going on walks, and sewing. I grew up in rural Victoria and have appreciated Melbourne’s lifestyle and community over the past six years.
Meet Sebastian
I’m a support worker who genuinely enjoys connecting with people and creating a supportive, relaxed environment. My background in hospitality and events has shaped me to be adaptable, attentive, and calm under pressure. I bring patience, presence, and a positive attitude into each shift, supporting participants in their routines while building trust and meaningful rapport. For me, it’s all about showing up consistently and making the day feel a little lighter.
Meet Francisco
I’m a dedicated and friendly support worker with a background in physiotherapy (qualified in Mexico since 2018), combined with experience in personal training and ongoing studies in mental health. I’ve supported people with chronic pain, physical limitations, anxiety and more, and I always aim to create a safe, respectful environment where clients feel comfortable and understood. Open-minded, attentive, and genuinely caring, my goal is to support you in a way that feels comfortable and empowering.
Meet Kylie
Kylie is a mum of five adult children, two of whom she has supported with additional needs throughout their lives, so patience and personalised care come naturally to her. She’s been working as a support worker for nearly two years and brings real warmth and reliability to every shift. Kylie particularly enjoys community outings, shopping runs, and transport to appointments, adapting to what each person needs on any given day.
Meet Elizabeth
I’m a support worker with a Certificate III in Individual Support and a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and I’m also a qualified Pilates and personal trainer. I’m passionate about helping people build confidence, explore their interests, and develop routines that make daily life feel more manageable. I especially enjoy incorporating movement and creativity into support, whether that’s attending a fitness class, working on a practical project, or learning something new side by side. I aim to create a space where people feel comfortable and able to be themselves, and I particularly enjoy working with people of colour and members of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Meet Ariadna
I’m a support worker with a genuine passion for meaningful connection and helping people grow. My strong interest in psychology and personal development shapes the way I engage with the people I support, always with curiosity, warmth, and a focus on what matters most to them. I believe that real support starts with truly listening and understanding the person in front of you. Outside of work, I love staying active and getting outdoors, soaking up fresh air and making the most of what the natural world has to offer.
Meet Sam
I have 5+ years in Disability Support, mainly in Supported Employment. I’m passionate about helping people build confidence, achieve their goals, and thrive in their communities. I have experience with intellectual disability, ASD, ADHD, ABI, and psychosocial disability, and as a late-diagnosed autistic woman, I value empathy, flexibility, and problem-solving. Former chef of nearly 10 years, I love cooking. Outside work I enjoy hiking, reading fantasy, gaming, and time with my partner and cats.
Meet Carey
Carey is a mature-age uni student with a decade of experience working in healthcare and education. She has a passion for helping people, and for encouraging people to express their wants and needs. As someone who has been diagnosed with ADHD, she is passionate about advocating for the rights of people with disabilities and mental health needs.
Carey takes great joy in listening to people, in making space for them, and is always eager to share in their interests. In her spare time she enjoys hanging out with friends, writing and recording music, reading science fiction novels and spending time at home with her partner Geosmin and their elderly cat Gomez.
Meet Liam
I’m a friendly and dependable support worker and psychology student, passionate about helping people live independently and feel empowered in their daily lives. I enjoy building genuine, respectful connections with the people I support while promoting wellbeing, independence, and community engagement. Outside of work, I’m working towards becoming a registered psychologist and love outdoor activities like rock climbing, hiking, and camping.
Meet Stephanie
I’m an artist with a deep passion for creativity in all its forms. Through my lived experience and life coaching, I guide others to reconnect with their own creative expression and unlock what’s already within them. Having lived in Africa for 14 years, I developed a profound connection to diverse communities and a love for the natural world, especially Cheetahs and Rhodesian Ridgebacks. I find true purpose walking alongside clients as they define their goals and grow in confidence along the way.
Meet Yvette
My journey into support work began through teaching inclusive dance classes for children and adults with disabilities, and I quickly realised I’d found something I genuinely loved. Since then, I’ve supported participants through one-on-one community access and recreational activities, helping them build confidence, independence and connection along the way. I’m energetic, bubbly and love getting out and about, whether that’s a new café, a walk or good conversation, and my goal is to create a relaxed environment where people feel comfortable and encouraged to work towards their own goals. Outside of work, I enjoy yoga, dancing, time with family and friends, and I’m a huge animal lover and self-proclaimed coffee enthusiast.
What sets us apart
What makes our approach different
We do not try to be everything to everyone. We do one thing, support young adults aged 18 to 35, and we do it with genuine care and a real structure that gets results.
Specialist focus
We specialise in supporting young adults aged 18 to 35 because we believe this is where we can make the greatest difference. Our team understands the unique challenges, opportunities and life transitions that come with this stage of life. With many of our support workers being of a similar age, genuine relationships develop naturally, creating an environment where young adults feel understood, comfortable to be themselves and supported to keep growing.
People learn best from people they can relate to.
Exceptional People
We believe great support starts with great people. Every member of our team is carefully selected not only for their qualifications, but also for their character, attitude and genuine desire to make a positive difference. We’ve built a team of uplifting, compassionate people who truly care about the individuals and families they support.
We choose people for who they are, not just what they know.
Purposeful Support
Purpose-driven support means understanding that progress isn’t always linear. While we never lose sight of long-term goals, we also recognise that every day is different. Our support workers know when to encourage someone to take the next step and when it’s more important to provide patience, reassurance and a safe environment where they feel understood.
Meeting people where they are while never losing sight of where they’re going.

Reliable support, familiar faces and clear communication help create trust, confidence and lasting relationships.
High Quality
Great support starts with great people. We carefully select, mentor and develop a team that shares our values and high standards.
